The Carleton University Nigerian Students Association is strongly committed to building a network of Nigerians both at Carleton and beyond. It strives to promote a sense of community for Nigerians on campus. Through this network, it will seek to promote awareness of Nigerian issues. Furthermore, the Association, in collaboration with the larger African community, will work to promote social activism among Nigerians.

The Carleton University Somali Student Association is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that celebrates Somali culture, heritage, and identity. Our mission is to connect, educate, and empower students who share an interest in Somali culture while promoting cultural understanding and global awareness.

Following its formation over a decade ago the Egyptian Student’s Association (ESA) has but one primary target: to work towards cultivating an environment heavily enriched with the same energy and joy that is Egyptian culture. Through various events and activities, we aim to promote engagement between the Egyptian community in order to recreate that feeling of home. Moving away from home is an adventure but also a challenge, nevertheless. Join us in breaking the barrier and creating a community away from home!

The purpose of this organization is to create an inclusive space for Eritrean and Ethiopian students, regardless of religious or political views. It serves as an open space for anyone from any and all backgrounds regardless of ancestry, who are interested in learning more about the Ethiopian/Eritrean experiences, cultures and events.

The Gujarati Carleton Association is a vibrant community dedicated to celebrating and preserving Gujarati culture at Carleton University. Our motto, “Tradition thrives when Gujaratis unite,” embodies our commitment to fostering unity and embracing our rich heritage. Through cultural events, educational initiatives, and social gatherings, we aim to create a welcoming space where members can connect, learn, and share in the beauty of Gujarati traditions. Join us as we come together to honor our roots and build lasting friendships.

Hillel Ottawa’s mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. 

The Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students, or HOLAS, is Carleton’s home for Latin American and Caribbean students on campus. Founded in 2007, we are the largest group of our kind in Canada’s Capital. We aim to share and celebrate “la cultura,” or our culture, amongst the greater Ottawa community through fun events, cultural iniatives, humanitarian work. We are known for our humanitarian projects, such as Locura Latina or our Latin bake sale, where we run fun events for you to enjoy with all the proceeds going to charities and people in need back in Latin America. Whether you’re of Latin American/Carribean descent and are looking for a community, want to practice your Spanish or Portuguese language skills, are interested in learning about new cultures and practices, or just really love Latin dance; HOLAS is here to welcome you with open arms. We all smile in the same language!

IJV Carleton is guided by the Jewish principles of Tzedek ve Shalom (Justice and Peace). We are a diverse group of people at Carleton, who come from various backgrounds, occupations, and affiliations, united by a shared commitment to universal human rights.

Islamic Relief CU is a charitable organization that operates in Canada and helps the global Islamic Relief Worldwide network. It is a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing aid and support to those in need, regardless of their race, religion, or nationality. Islamic Relief CU focuses on various areas of humanitarian work, including emergency relief, sustainable development, education, and healthcare.

Our university’s Kenyan Student Association is dedicated to sharing the rich history, traditions, and culture of Kenya.
