Sustainable & Renewable Energy Engineering Society (SREE)

Founded in 2009, SREE Society is a student society that represents the students in the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering program. The society provides services, academic support, and hosts social events for its members. Our council is made up of 6 executive members and a year rep for each undergraduate year. We welcome students from all backgrounds who are passionate about sustainability. While our core members come from the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering (SREE) programs, we also include students from the new Sustainable Energy Engineering and Sustainable Electrical Power Engineering programs in which we were apart of establishing. SREESoc shall strive to promote professional excellence and a sense of community amongst its members while developing positive relations with other student and external groups. SREESoc shall fulfill its purpose through the pursuit of the following: Preparation of seminars, lectures, conferences, workshops or other opportunities to excite its members and the public about the sustainable and renewable energy industry, making services available to support its members, encouraging participation of the public and private sectors in SREESoc events, and organizing any other event or activity consistent with the purpose and goals of the society.

The Poetics Society

The Poetics Society is a Carleton Club that prides itself on serving the community by organizing writing workshops and open mic events for not just Carleton students, but the greater Ottawa/Gatineau art scene as a whole. Come check us out at various local cafes and the Sunnyside Library to engage in various poetry-related workshops, listen to musicians and poets perform their own work and meet other artistic individuals at our art picnics or cake events.
